Jennifer Lawrence's nude photos leaked online

Los Angeles: Actress Jennifer Lawrence's nude photographs are being circulated on the internet space after her phone was reportedly hacked.

"This is a flagrant violation of privacy," a spokesperson for the 24-year-old said in a statement, reports people.com.

"The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence," added the spokesperson.

There are other young stars too who were caught up in similar scandals.

Selfies of Nickelodeon actress Jennette McCurdy were leaked in March, and a man was arrested in 2011 following an FBI investigation into the hacking of Scarlett Johansson’s phone.

In 2009, actress Ashley Green threatened to sue after nude pictures of her showed up online.

Actress Vanessa Hudgens had apologised to fans in 2007 after a photo she took years earlier resurfaced.
